The mighty Waikato 100

So on Saturday Henna Gaijin was on the road in Aotearoa/New Zealand and on the mighty Waikato River for the day filming the Waikato 100 – an event put on by the Waikato Rowing Club (ok, I've said the word 'Waikato' one too many times now!).

It was a great day in some glorious weather covering an event that is set to be pretty big in years to come.

For those who don't know New Zealand very well, the Waikato River is the longest river in Aotearoa and this event covers 100km of it from its start in the city of Hamilton, to its finish near Port Waikato just south of Auckland.

Henna Gaijin came upon it through its organiser, Rob Hamill (Olympic rower and winner of the first ever trans-Atlantic rowing race with partner Phil Stubbs) who has been a big supporter of Grant Rawlinson's Rowing from Home to Home expedition.
