The Sea Decides wins at Doc Edge!

Over the past couple of months, Henna Gaijin Studio has been busy taking part in the Doc Edge Film Festival in Auckland and Wellington and now it's all over, we've had a chance to reflect on what has been an amazing ride.
To begin with at the Doc Edge awards at the beginning of the festival, Director Alistair Harding picked up the Best NZ Emerging Film maker award. And then just a few days earlier we were lucky enough to have an audience of about 300 people for the world premiere of the film at the Sky City Theatre, and a full house at the Wellington premiere two weeks later.
The film is the story of Kiwi adventurer Grant Rawlinson's human-powered attempt to travel 12,000km from Singapore to New Zealand. With filming beginning in August 2016 before travelling through Indonesia, East Timor Australia and New Zealand, the production took five years and so it was an awesome opportunity to celebrate the journey – and for that we'll forever to be grateful to the team at Doc Edge!
And even better, we had the surprise of Grant Rawlinson's presence at the festival after he travelled from Singapore for the event.
It was an amazing ride – but it's not over yet – watch this space, because now we're on to phase two – to see if we can get into some international festivals!
